Pilgrimage: A Spiritual Journey
The Celtic Way Pilgrimage in Wiltshire
The Celtic Way is a long-distance walk from West Wales, into Wessex and on to St Michael’s Mount in Cornwall. It is 725 mile long (1,167 km) and visits more than one hundred pre-historic sites. The full Guide to the walk can be purchased on Amazon.
The ancient sites of Windmill Hill, Avebury, Silbury Hill, West Kennet Long Barrow and the Heritage Landscape at Stonehenge are all in this area and Plain Church Celtic Community would encourage you to explore these incredible places for yourself. If you decide to explore further it is possible to walk across the hillforts of Wessex to Glastonbury.
To encourage Christians to explore the wildlife, ancient history, thin places, old wells, hill forts, burial sites and the World Heritage site of Stonehenge, Plain Church Celtic Community offers to support walkers in their endeavours. We offer walking escorts, food, accommodation, phone support on the trail and assistance with transfers with support from local tour company, Salisbury Plain Safaris, so please contact us if you need help.
This southern section of the trail is 32 kilometres of easy walking with limited gentle gradients.
